Carnegie Mellon graduates network in Dubai

Alumni from three Carnegie Mellon global campuses gathered in Dubai to reconnect and network. The event was hosted by Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar and lays the groundwork for stronger ties among CMU graduates living in the GCC region.
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, attended the event: “I have attended many alumni events over the years, and I am continually amazed at how Carnegie Mellon graduates from different years, programs, and campuses find an instant connection based on their bond to CMU.”
More than 30 graduates who now live and work in Dubai were at the event, and for some this was an opportunity to learn more about the Qatar campus.
“We are very proud of the multiversity experience we offer our students in Education City,” said Trick. “Many of these alumni do business in Qatar, and we want them to know they have a home at our campus.”
Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar opened in Education City in 2004 at the invitation of Qatar Foundation. With 15 graduating classes, the total number of graduates is more than 1100. These alumni are part of the Carnegie Mellon network of more than 120,000 graduates worldwide.
