Community Development Authority showcases advanced e-Services at GITEX 2012
The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai is participating in GITEX 2012, the premier technology exhibition and conference in the Middle East, under the Dubai e-Government umbrella. The exhibition, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre until October 18, has provided CDA with a wide platform to showcase its website featuring state-of-the-art electronic services and IT infrastructure.
The Social Regulatory and Licensing sector services which are a new addition to its Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) will be introduced by CDA at GITEX 2012. This service provides the automation of all its procedures as well as its regulatory and licensing operations such as registering and licensing of social clubs, professionals and facilities; and scheduling visits. The Social Regulatory and Licensing aims at increasing the efficiency and productivity of this sector by achieving its strategic goals with relatively small resource requirements.
Additionally, CDA will showcase a number of eServices that will introduce the public to its IT Methodologies, frameworks & Standards - IT Project Management Methodology, Data Governance and Security Framework, and Information Technology Standards. Another one of its highlighted services at Gitex will be the Human Rights Sector’s Reports Monitoring System, which will facilitate the sourcing of specialized reports that can be provided to establishments and authorities in the UAE in order to increase knowledge amongst human rights specialists.
"Our participation in GITEX 2012 is aimed at highlighting the electronic services and technology capabilities of our organisation to specialised groups as well as the public, as the exhibition is one of the best in the Middle East and significant in terms of learning about the latest technologies,” said His Excellency Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of CDA.
"Information technology is advancing rapidly. Participating in GITEX will also enable us to learn about the latest technologies used in various sectors such as telecommunications, aviation, health, tourism and industry,” added His Excellency.
Dr. Omar Al Shamsi,Executive director-of Human Rights Sector and acting executive director of the corporate services sector at CDA, said: “At CDA, we are keen to enhance social eServices standards in the emirate, to strengthen communication with all the customers, keeping pace with socio-economy boom of Dubai, and in line with electronic transformation in the services provided at the level of government”.
He added: “Through our participation in GITEX, we are seeking to showcase the eServices delivered to the whole community such as Human Rights services, Volunteers Registration, El Kayt Programme for people with disabilities, Elderly Care, Social Regulatory and Licensing and other services.”

The Community Development Authority (CDA) was founded by a decree of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008. CDA is responsible for setting up and developing a framework for social development, and aims to achieve the goals outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plans.
