Community Development Authority launches 4th Ramdan Hatta Forum 2012

The Community Development Authority, CDA has launched the 4th Ramadan Hatta Forum 2012 activities as a part of CDA’s efforts to enhance communication with Hatta residents through a number of Ramadan activities, awareness campaigns, sports and entertainment events, that target all segments of the society. H.E. Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of CDA, other high-ranking officials from CDA and a number of Hatta residents attended the opening ceremony.
H.E Khaled Al Kamda, said: “The forum experienced positive interaction from the public during the past 3 years. This encouraged us to allocate a research team to conduct a survey amongst Hatta residents in an effort to further understand their requirements, address the gaps and incorporate feedback and suggestions in the new edition of the forum. Therefore, the forum this year will see new activities and programmes that meet the demands of the residents.”
He added: “The Ramadan Hatta Forum reflects CDA’s strategy to establish stronger linkages between CDA and members of the community. The Forum has evolved as a tool for connecting with Hatta residents.”
Al Kamda also pointed out that the newly inaugurated Hatta Community Center is a communication channel for enhancing social interaction in Hatta, highlighting that, through this center, CDA would communicate with the public in this area to meet their demands, and work on designing and developing service-related plans and initiatives.
The opening program featured a religious lecture about the virtues of Ramadan presented by Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Hadaad, Director of the Fatwa Department at the Dubai IslamicAffairs & Charitable Activities Department. It also included a presentation on activities and events that CDA would organize during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Forum will see a number of religious and social lectures presented by distinguished individuals, poetry sessions and entertainment programs and competitions for children. The agenda will also include various cultural and religious lectures dedicated for women.
Additionally, the Forum features football tournaments at Al Tala Park, starting from 2 Ramadan till 20 Ramadan, in cooperation with Hatta Sports Club. As many as 14 teams from Hatta-government entities and neighboring areas are participating in the tournaments.
The 4th Ramadan Hatta Forum is being held in association with Dubai International Holy Quran Award, Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Public Library, Dubai Customs and Shaikha Maitha Bint Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Special Needs, Civil Defence, Hatta National Arts and Cultural Association, Center of Ambulance Services and Hatta club. There will be daily draws valuable prizes and attendants to the forum will receive their winnings immediately on location.

The Community Development Authority (CDA) was founded by a decree of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in July 2008. CDA is responsible for setting up and developing a framework for social development, and aims to achieve the goals outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plans.
