Changing Lives: Mahzooz Enables Unemployed Expat To Fulfill His Entrepreneurial Dream

Dubai resident and Indian expat Nazeerali’s life took a great turn after he won AED 500,000 in the 34th weekly live Mahzooz draw. He, and one more lucky winner, matched five out of six numbers and shared the AED 1,000,000 second prize.

Nazeerali, 53, lost his job due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For him, winning such a large sum of money is a great blessing that has put an end to the current uncertainty in his life. 

“I’ve been jobless for a few months. I had to send my family back home to cut down on expenses during this uncertain time. I felt down and lonely, but I never lost hope. I always believed in the power of luck and always saw the light at the end of the tunnel. My big win with Mahzooz has proved that optimism and positivity always bring great things in life", said Nazeerali.

The father of two is an enthusiastic Mahzooz participant but has never imagined winning this big.

“I received an email from Mahzooz informing me that I’d won a whopping AED 500,000. I simply couldn’t believe my eyes. It took a while for this life-changing win to sink in. I called my family immediately and told them that all our worries had come to an end,” he recalled.

The new turn has given Nazeerali the opportunity to fulfill his long-standing dream to become an entrepreneur.

“I’ve always dreamt of starting my own cafeteria in Dubai, but I thought that this would be impossible for an ordinary man like me. But now I know for sure that nothing is impossible. Thank you to Mahzooz,” said Nazeerali.

The family man, who is originally from Tamil Nadu in India, has a great plan for his family. “Once I start my own business, I will bring my family back so that we can reunite. My wife and my two children are eagerly waiting for those good days to come. I can’t wait for the four of us to be together again!”

Nazeerali understands the hardship of unemployment and will allocate a portion of his winnings to help others. 

“I have faced several hardships and disappointments while I’ve been looking for a job. I know very well how it feels to be without work. Therefore, I will support the unemployed members within my extended family so that they can also have a ray of hope in their lives,” he added.

Nazeerali has a piece of advice for all the Mahzooz participants: “It’s amazing when you have a life-changing win overnight. I advise everyone to keep trying their luck with Mahzooz and one day, they can also fulfill their dreams,” concluded Nazeerali. 

For those who missed out on last week’s live draw, entrants can participate in Mahzooz by registering via www.mahzooz.ae and purchasing a bottle of water. Each bottle of water purchased (for AED 35) provides eligibility for one line in the draw and the donation is channelled through Mahzooz’s community partners to hydrate those in need.

The next draw will be held as scheduled on Saturday 24 July 2021 at 9:00pm UAE time. Mahzooz is inclusive to all who are eligible.
