CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, today revealed the GCC shortlist for CIMA Global Business Challenge 2015. The global business competition is an annual event organised in partnership with Barclays. The GCC stage of the competition is supported by the Department of Finance - Government of Dubai, Emirates Global Aluminum, Unilever and BMMI.

Six teams have been selected for the next stage of the competition. The shortlisted teams represent Heriot Watt University and Middlesex University, UAE and Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. The teams will now compete at the regional final on 14 June 2015, with the winner going on to represent their country at the global final in Warsaw, Poland, in August 2015.

The CIMA Global Business Challenge is a business competition for undergraduates around the world, designed to showcase talent in business management and identify young business leaders of the future. Competing teams are asked to put their business skills to the test by analysing and solving a real-life corporate case study.

Andrew Harding, Managing Director of CIMA, said: “On behalf of CIMA, I congratulate the shortlisted teams for their outstanding achievement at the first stage of the Global Business Challenge 2015. These students are a fine example of the young talent we’ve helped identify and nurture through the competition. We are pleased to be giving them a unique opportunity to experience the world of business and to build their skills. We wish the competitors the best of luck at the regional final and look forward to welcoming the winning team at the prestigious global final.”

Commenting on the shortlisted teams, Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC CIMA, said, “We are amazed to see such outstanding quality of submissions. Over the years, we’ve witnessed the entries grow by measure and quality which is really inspiring. We look forward to the new ideas and campaigns the shortlisted teams will bring to the table at the regional final and wish them all the best.”
