As the UAE prepares to celebrate the major milestone of 40 years of unification on December 2, 2011, the Community Development Authority (CDA) is celebrating the occasion with a series of activities underlining ‘The Spirit of the Union.’

“The 40th UAE National Day is an occasion to demonstrate our commitment to the nation’s leadership, the country and the people, and to extend our congratulations to the leaders and residents of the UAE. Since the formation of the UAE, our country has achieved tremendous accomplishments at all levels - locally, regionally and globally – and especially in terms of citizen welfare by providing the residents a better quality of life,” said His Excellency Khaled Al Kamda, Director General, Community Development Authority.

To mark the celebrations, CDA will hold a series of activities from December 1 to 3, 2011, at the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). CDA corners in three different areas within JBR will present UAE heritage dance performances, traditional food and displays of photographs and also distribute gifts to visitors.

Children will have abundant opportunities for fun as one of the CDA corners will be set up exclusively for them, with bouncing castles, face painting, competitions and cultural programmes. Another of the three corners will be dedicated for social clubs in Dubai.

A Ferrari car parade organised by CDA on the 2nd of December with the support of Dubai Police and the Roads & Transport Authority will be a major attraction of the celebrations. The parade will start at 9 a.m. from Jumeirah Beach Road and culminate at JBR.

“The celebrations are in line with CDA‘s goal of recognizing the 40th UAE National Day with the public and private sectors. We selected Jumeirah Beach Residence to celebrate this occasion to reflect the cosmopolitan flavour of the nation, and we will announce a number of other activities shortly,” said Salah Al Hashimi, Marketing & Communications Director, CDA.

CDA will also hold a get-together for its employees on November 30, 2011, in collaboration with Dubai Executive Council at Al Boom Tourist Village, to celebrate the UAE National Day.
