Community engagement at the heart of ENOC’s 2016 Ramadan programme

During the Holy Month of Ramadan this year, several community engagement activities will be the key focus of Emirates National Oil Company’s (ENOC) Ramadan programme.
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time of introspection and reflection for all of us. If we dig deeper within ourselves, we find that the best impact we can have on society during this period is building strong relationships, developing a sense of empathy and giving to the less fortunate amongst us.
“We at ENOC identify with these values very keenly and we are proud to encourage our employees to participate in voluntary work through the activities we roll out during Ramadan. Our activities further contribute to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a city that cares. Therefore our Ramadan calendar involves a wide range of activities that reflect these characteristics,” he continued.
Some of the activities being organised by ENOC are:
- Ramadan Tent: ENOC welcomes the Fujairah community to its tent located at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Dibba Al Fujairah. ENOC will sponsor and manage a 300 pax capacity tent where members of the public are invited to join in Iftar daily.
- Ramadan Truck: From June 20 to July 4, ENOC’s Ramadan Truck will tour 15 neighbourhoods in Dubai serving Iftar and Suhoor meals. There will be a total of 6,000 meals distributed during the two weeks’ period.
- Ramadan Aman - ENOC is the strategic partner of Ramadan Aman initiative for the 3rd consecutive year in collaboration with Al Ihsan Charity Association. ENOC’s employees and senior management participate in distributing care packages to motorists at Traffic Light junctions before sunset; 500,000 care packages are distributed during the month of Ramadan containing dates, water, prayer beads, tea bags and tea mug
- Ramadan Meer: ENOC will be distributing 300 Ramadan Cards to be used for grocery shopping at the Union Co-op branches in association with Union Coop. Each card will hold an amount of AED 500 and will be provided to underprivileged families by partnering with Mohamed Bin Rashid Humanitarian and Charity Establishment and Dubai Foundation for Women and Children during Ramadan.
- LPG refill vouchers: EMGAS in partnership with Bait Al Khair will distribute free LGP refill vouchers to 500 underprivileged families in Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. The vouchers entitle the needy families to a free refill of a 22kg LPG cylinder anytime between the first day of Ramadan until December 31, 2016.
