“Cooking with My Mom”: new cooking Web series exclusively on Yahoo! Maktoob this Ramadan

Yahoo! Maktoob will debut a new cooking Web series this Ramadan, titled “Cooking with My Mom.” The funny and heartwarming show has been created by Yahoo! Maktoob in collaboration with Simple Idea Productions, and stars popular TV chef Eva Halasa Rihani, who has presented and hosted segments on Sabah Al Khair Ya Arab on MBC1, and whose passion for food has led her to bring her daughter into the kitchen to pass on her cooking secrets.  

Each 8 minute episode features Eva teaching 17 year old daughter Emily a new simple, yet delicious recipe in the kitchen of their Dubai home.  The show is in Arabic and will run in weekly episodes starting July 23^rd exclusively on Yahoo! Maktoob on “Helwa Kitchen” and on Yahoo! Maktoob Screen, the revamped video destination. The episodes will include English subtitles, and will be accompanied by text recipe instructions and behind the scenes photo galleries, as well as a weekly blogs from both Eva and Emily. 

Eva is a self-taught chef who has featured in several prominent Arab magazines and on television channels such as MBC1, Sama Dubai, Decision Makers, as well as Al Arabiyya 99 radio. She currently has her own segment on Panorama Café on MBC radio.

She said, “I’m very excited to be collaborating with Yahoo! Maktoob and introducing its large online audience to my special recipes. Creating a series especially for the Web was an amazing experience, and I really can’t wait to share my secrets to delicious foods that range from different flavored Atayef, to chicken fatta, to my specialty, babaganouj.”
