DAMAC Properties has provided a donation of AED 1 Million to support the building of a new, high-tech care facility for the Dubai Autism Centre.

Mr. Hussain Sajwani, Chairman of DAMAC Properties, one of the largest luxury private real estate developers in the Middle East, made the contribution as part of the company’s continued corporate social responsibility programme.

“It is the role of companies to support the communities in which they operate. The Dubai Autism Centre has made great strides in providing autistic children and their families with support and guidance. I am delighted that we can play a part in the building of a new high-tech centre to further this important work,” said Mr. Sajwani.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Dubai Autism Centre, the project has provided support services and educational programs for children with autism and their families.

Mohammed Al Emadi, Director General and Board Member of the Dubai Autism Centre said: “We have outgrown our current facilities and it is critically important we move to a new centre which can offer the latest technology and support needed for children with autism. The donation made by DAMAC Properties will go a long way in us realising that goal.”

Founded in 2001, the Dubai Autism Centre is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive non-profit organization in the United Arab Emirates serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The donation comes just two months after DAMAC Properties also provided a substantial donation to the UAE Red Crescent to help clothe deprived children around the world.
