The National Health Insurance Company – Daman has launched a trial phase allowing clients to pay insurance premiums and service charges using e-Dirham at its service centre in its Abu Dhabi headquarters.

Daman said that payments using e-Dirham services will be included in the approved payment options package, and will expand to the remainder of the company’s centres nationwide over the coming weeks.

Yousif Najem Al Khanjari, Chief Financial Officer at Daman, said: “The inclusion of e-Dirham in Daman’s payment options is a reflection of our commitment to simplifying services for clients. It provides access to our services with the least number of steps, in the shortest possible time, while meeting the highest standards of quality.”

Al Khanjari added: “Daman seeks to continue adopting the latest technical and innovative solutions in line with standard electronic government services and the leadership’s directives on the digitalisation of services. This is achieved through applying the best programmes and initiatives that strengthen all operations, which is reflected in the outcomes of our services by keeping our customers and partners happy.”

Al Khanjari also noted that the adoption of the e-Dirham comes as part of Daman’s ongoing efforts to implement best practices concerning electronic payments through safe and secure gateways, as well as staying current with the latest technical trends to enhance its experiences in the field.

Launched by the Ministry of Finance in 2011, e-Dirham is characterised by the integration of global payment networks and systems. This includes integrated system platforms, flexibility with e-government applications, and unlimited scalability to develop payment service applications.

The e-Dirham platform is a smart technological achievement by the Ministry of Finance. E-Dirham cards offer a smart payment method for more than 5,000 government services in ministries, federal and local authorities, and the private sector. Users can pay for service fees through different payment channels, including e-Dirham applications for mobile phones, e-wallet, vouchers, self-service e-Kiosks.
