Danube Building Materials, the leader in construction, building materials and shop fitting industries, has revealed that a total of at least eight per cent of its export sales come from Jordan. This has encouraged Danube to implement strategic initiatives aimed at consolidating its market hold in the country. In line with this, the leading building materials provider will be participating at the 8th China Fair Jordan 2011, the largest Chinese products exhibition in the Middle East, which opens today, September 19, 2011 and will run until September 22 at the Amman International Motor Show in Amman. The Danube booth can be found at booth ‘B 54.’

According to Danube, the current talks about Jordan’s possible inclusion into the GCC group of countries will prove to be both strategic and advantageous. Also, Jordan is strategically located next to Iraq, which also represents a big market for building materials. The company’s move toward creating strong market presence in Jordan is part of its drive to reach USD 1 billion in revenues by the year 2015.

“Jordan is currently witnessing key growth driven in by an influx of construction and development projects, thereby showing the country’s commitment towards economic recovery,” said Rizwan Sajan, Founder & Chairman, Danube Building Materials. “We are confident that the country will continue to experience massive growth and we intend to become a part of this development by leveraging our wide array of products and services to the growing number of development projects in Jordan.”

‘China Fair Jordan 2011’ is an annual event supported by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Chinese Provincial Government and the Government of Jordan. This year’s edition will feature the products and services of over 800 exhibitors across 20,000 square metres of the Amman International Motor Show. Since its first edition in 2004, the annual event has positioned itself as the exclusive source point for ‘Made in China’ products and has attracted visitors from leading Middle East countries like KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.

“The Jordan market is one of the most competitive markets in the Middle East. Local traders are importing directly from China and other Far East countries, which makes the market more price driven. Our participation at this year’s ‘China Fair Jordan 2011’ will allow us the opportunity to showcase our diverse product portfolio of building essentials and also meet new contacts and develop key opportunities. Taking part in this annual affair also allows us to move one step closer towards reinforcing our market presence in Jordan’s booming economy,” concluded Sajan.
