DEWA receives delegation from Commercial Bank of Dubai

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, received a delegation from Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) including  Peter Baltussen, CEO, and Yaqoob Yousuf Hassan, Deputy CEO. The meeting was attended by Abdul Nasser Abbas, Director of Treasury at DEWA. The visit is one of as a series of meetings with local banks and companies to DEWA to strengthen relations and discuss investment projects.

During the meeting, Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s achievements, projects, and services. He also discussed DEWA’s future plans to fulfil the increasing demand for its services by raising capacity and enhancing the efficiency of its transmission and distribution networks. The two sides discussed possible areas of cooperation between DEWA and CBD.

Baltussen commended DEWA for its achievements and the international reputation it has attained for excellence in its electricity and water projects. He thanked Al Tayer for the warm hospitality and for the chance to look at DEWA’s activities closely.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
