Dubai Electricity and Water Authority today honoured the winners of the ‘Go Green’ initiative, which was launched at 15 of DEWA’s offices and branches. The two-month long initiative aims to raise awareness among DEWA staff on managing energy demand, and promoting electricity and water conservation.

Yousuf Jebril, EVP of Electricity and Water Planning, accompanied by Khawla Al Mehairi, VP Marketing and Corporate Communications, and Amal Koshak, Senior Marketing Communication Manager, honoured the winners of the first and second week’s competitions, as well as the winners of the first and second surveys at an awards ceremony held at DEWA Headquarters in the presence of senior officials, and employees from DEWA.

“In line with DEWA’s strategy to reduce demand for electricity, preserve resources, protect the environment, and achieve sustainable development, we consistently train and educate our employees on sustainability, environment, and conservation issues, as they are one of the main pillars of our corporate culture. We believe that DEWA employees should be a model and an example to follow for our stakeholders, customers, and community members in conserving electricity and water and preserving natural resources for generations to come,” said Al Mehairi.

Al Mehairi praised the efforts of DEWA’s employees in the adoption of eco-friendly best practices, and urged them to share such practices as widely as possible to support DEWA’s efforts to consolidate the pillars of sustainability in the Emirate of Dubai.

DEWA is continuously working to promote energy efficiency through the adoption of latest technologies, as well as the planning, monitoring and measurement of performance indicators, and improvement of processes related to management and energy efficiency.
