DEWA receives top honours at prestigious Gulf Business Industry Awards 2013

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has been bestowed with top honours at the annual Gulf Business Industry Awards 2013, once again proving its credentials in the industry. DEWA was awarded ‘Energy Company of the Year,’ while HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, received the title of ‘Gulf Business CEO of the Year’ and ‘Energy CEO of the Year.’

The awards ceremony was held at the Oberoi hotel in Dubai to honour best business leaders in various industries including media, IT, energy, tourism, retail, education, real estate, aviation and banking.

Al Tayer thanked the organising committee of the Gulf Business Industry Awards for recognising the pioneering achievements and milestones of DEWA.

The Gulf Business Awards had 24 categories for individuals, companies, and key industries in the region. The Award honours the most influential personalities in various industries across the region.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
