DEWA’s Assessment Centre records robust success in nurturing human resources and promoting Emiratisation

The Centre for Assessment and Development of Human Resources, a pioneering initiative launched by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in 2011 has evaluated over 890 candidates since its launch. Encouraged by this positive response, DEWA has expanded the centre in July 2013, making it one of the important development centres among government departments in the Emirate.
DEWA HR’s Talent Acquisition department runs the centre, which follows a systematic and accurate programme of identifying competencies for employment, promotion, development, and training needs. The centre employs a number of analytical performance tools and reporting techniques to attract talented youth, and support human resources management in hiring new employees, as well as providing training and development recommendations for employees.
“In fulfilment to the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to support and develop Emirati skilled labour, and in line with DEWA’s strategy to promote Emiratisation in the public sector, particularly in specialised and technical jobs, we are committed to promoting a culture of excellence by conducting a series of various programmes including training, scholarships, and social and cultural workshops. All of these aim to build and develop a competitive team to achieve DEWA’s vision to become a world-class sustainable utility, in line with Dubai’s vision to invest in Emirati talent.” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
“DEWA is committed to supporting its employees and associates with the objective of strengthening performance levels, enhancing corporate loyalty, and ensuring the highest-possible levels of commitment and efficiency in customer service. DEWA is one of the leading government organisations that has launched several training and development programmes to nurture the skills of its employees and support Emiratisation goals,” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of HR and Business Support.
