DP World Sohkna Welcomes First Baby Capsize Dry Cargo Vessel to Port

DP World Sohkna, the local marine terminal of DP World - a leading enabler of global trade and an integral part of the supply chain, recently welcomed the first Baby Capsize dry cargo vessel to port” MINI”. Hailing from Brazil and loaded with more than 111,000 metric tons of iron ore, the vessel has a length of 225 MTRS and a breadth of 43 MTRS. “MINI” is testament to the efforts and commitment by the Port authority in improving infrastructure at DP World Sokhna.
To commemorate the occasion, DP World Sokhna, Head of Operation Ahmed Hassan gifted a crystal plaque to the Master Captain Amarendra Patnaik. DP World Sokhna officials also held a ceremony to celebrate the event. This adds another step in our direction of “ease of doing business” and our commitment for shipping and port led growth for the benefit of the trade.
Further commenting on the berthing of the vessel, Mr Ajay Singh, CEO of DP World Sokhna said “Bringing such large vessel to Egyptian Ports provide economies of scale to shippers, resulting in substantial savings in terms of time and money for their shipments”
