DP World wins top LLOYD's List Award for commitment in training employees

DP World, UAE Region has won the prestigious Lloyd’s List Training Award for 2011 for its outstanding commitment to training its employees and demonstrating a proactive contribution towards improving training standards across the maritime industry as a whole.
The award was received by Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, at the Lloyd’s List Awards, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent 2011 ceremony in Dubai.
The gala event was attended by top executives from the regional maritime industry, government officials and other dignitaries.
Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, said: “DP World operates on a unique corporate culture that nurtures an environment of team work, commitment and leadership. Our people are our most valued asset and we constantly invest in them. We are happy to receive the Lloyd’s List Training Award on behalf of all our employees. We thank Lloyd’s List for the honour.”
DP World, UAE Region’s training activities have also been extended to cover port users, such as the ongoing programme to educate truck drivers using Jebel Ali Port about critical traffic safety rules such as speed limits, restricted access areas, pedestrian crossings, parking norms, personal protective gear, restrictions on the use of mobile phones while driving and the use of seat belts, among others.
DP World sponsored the “Newsmaker of the Year” Award at the Lloyds List Awards, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent 2011.
