DPG’s Corporate Academy hosts Dubai Expo 2020 awareness session

Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, recently held its first staff briefing session about Dubai Expo 2020 in collaboration with Dubai Expo 2020 team. 

The ‘Expo 2020: Learn More!’ session took place at TECOM Auditorium in Knowledge Village Conference Center and was attended by members of the Dubai Expo 2020 team and Arif Mubarak, the Group COO of DPG in addition to DPG employees.   

The latest in a series of briefing sessions organised for public and private sector organisations across the UAE, the meeting began with Group COO Mr Arif Mubarak welcoming the Dubai Expo 2020 team and explaining the role that each one of DPG staff can play in contributing to the success of Dubai Expo 2020 including how they can promote the bid internally and amongst DPG’s external stakeholders. 

The Dubai Expo 2020 team then provided staff with key insights into the country’s bid to host Expo 2020, which would be the first Expo ever in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia region. Information was also given about ‘Expo Live’, a new initiative which will support the development of innovative ideas from across the world with the support of the 100 million euro Expo Partnership Fund.

Members of the Dubai Expo 2020 team expressed their gratitude towards DPG for their support for the Dubai Expo 2020 bid. 

Under the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, Dubai, UAE, is competing against three other candidate cities bidding to host the 2020 World Expo. The winning city will be announced in November following a vote by the 167 member nations of the Bureau International des Expositions – the international organisation responsible for overseeing the bidding, selection and organisation of World Expos. 

DPG’s Corporate Academy, launched under the strategic direction of Group CEO, Khalid Al Malik, is developed by an experienced team with a selection of courses endorsed by the prestigious Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). The programme promotes the development of individuals through specialised skill-based learning and gives employees from all departments the opportunity to attend a variety of training courses throughout the year.
