du Celebrates Haq Al Lailah with the Children from Tender Hearts Centre

du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), continued its tradition of including the children from Tender Hearts Centre in the UAE in its annual Haq Al Lailah celebration held at the du Headquarters on May 2, 2018. du senior management and other staff members took the time today to play and interact with these children with an aim bringing the Emirati culture even closer to the children and spreading the spirit of love, family and community throughout the UAE.  

Haq Al Laylah, meaning ‘for this night’, is an annual traditional event that is celebrated to mark the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan. It is observed on the 15th night of the lunar calendar month of Shaa’ban, 15 days before Ramadan begins. On the day itself, children dress in traditional clothes and walk around their neighbourhood singing a traditional song linked to the day and collecting sweets and nuts from their neighbours.
