Top exporting companies honoured by Dubai Chamber

As part of its efforts to encourage strong export performance among its members, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognised four companies as SME Exporters of the Month during an exclusive ceremony at its head office on June 7, 2012. 

Dr. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber, congratulated winners and presented the Certificates of Recognition and the SME Exporter of the Month trophies to Joud Telecom for achieving the highest export value in the month of January, to Mellow Trading for the highest number of markets exported to during February, to Bolton Middle East as a recent start–up company for the highest export value in March and to Albakrawe General Trading for obtaining the highest number of Certificates of Origin in April of this year respectively.

Dr. Rettab congratulated the companies for their achievements and urged them to continue their good efforts. 

He said: “The SME Exporter of the Month is an important initiative for Dubai Chamber, which is part of our strategic objectives to support the development of business and create a favourable business environment. It is an incentive for companies to enhance their performance, which in turn helps drive the economy and the development of Dubai as a major international business hub. 

“We would like to congratulate all the companies who have been honoured for their achievements so far and encourage them to continue to play their role in the development of Dubai,” Dr. Rettab added. 

Company representatives welcomed the recognition and praised the initiative as a way of instilling healthy competition in Dubai’s export and re-export sector. 

Dubai Chamber launched SME Exporter of the Month in 2009, under the name SME Exporter of the Quarter, in order to recognise, support and encourage strong trade performance. The name was changed last year to make it a monthly event due to its popularity and success.
