Dubai Chamber promotes the emirate’s business environment at International Trade Fair in Addis Ababa
As part of its efforts to promote Dubai as a global business hub, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Representative Office in Addis Ababa participated with a special booth in the 19th Addis Chamber International Trade Fair held at the Exhibition Center and Market Development Enterprise in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa from February 19 to 25.
Dubai Chamber’s special booth, which was visited by representatives of over 400 companies from 25 countries, dispensed information about Dubai’s attractive business environment, the services offered by the Chamber to the global business community, while discussing ways of strengthening bilateral relations between Dubai and Ethiopian business communities at the meetings held on the side lines of the expo.
The Chamber’s Ethiopian Representative Office, which opened its doors in May 2013, in Addis Ababa is the first office in Africa, and plays an important role in stimulating Dubai’s economic growth strategy while promoting the emirate’s unique investment environment amongst the African and global businesses.
Omar Khan, Director, International Offices, Dubai Chamber, stated that the Addis Ababa-based DCRO’s participation in the popular exhibition speaks of the Chamber’s strategic ProDubai initiative, which includes expanding its international presence in key African markets to promote Dubai as a world-class international business hub.
Mr. Khan also pointed out that the exhibition provided an ideal platform for meeting synergy partners and agents as well as suppliers and buyers while updating them about investing in Dubai besides exploring Africa’s investment opportunities for Dubai-based companies who would be wanting to expand in the Continent’s most promising markets.
The Addis Chamber International Trade Fair, one of the most prominent Ethiopian trade exhibitions, which covers industrial, agricultural and services sectors, started in 1995 under the Motto: “Development Through Partnership”. Since then, the Addis Ababa Chamber has organized 18 International Trade Fairs colorfully and with the involvement and participation of a number of public and private stakeholders.
