As part of its support to the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day held on the occasion of the death anniversary of the late UAE President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on the 19th of Ramadan annually, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised various community activities to mark the occasion.

Paying tribute to the rich memory of Sheikh Zayed, Dubai Chamber honoured over 60 of its support staff working behind the scenes at the Chamber and presented over 1,000 packs of food to dhow sailors anchored at Dubai Creek as well as hosted a community stakeholder Suhoor to build relationships and interact with its key community and government partners at the VIP Majlis in Dubai World Trade Centre.

In a special ceremony held for the 7th consecutive year, H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, presented financial gifts to the cleaners, technicians, gardeners and security and kitchen staff for their hard work and dedication in maintaining high levels of hygiene, comfort and safety at the Chamber premises.

In his address during the presentation ceremony, H.E. Buamim stated that the honouring of the Chamber support staff is in line with its commitment towards all its workers irrespective of the type of work they do in furthering the non-profit organisation’s mission and strategic objective of supporting the business community while promoting Dubai as an international business hub.

He said: "The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has instilled in us humanitarian and charitable values to help the needy, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan, which we do annually as part of our contribution to bring joy to the less privileged members of the community."

The support staff, who were presented certificates of appreciation and financial gifts, lauded the Chamber’s efforts stating that this humanitarian gesture motivates them to work hard in serving the Chamber and its stakeholders in the best possible way.

In another activity, Dubai Chamber organised a corporate volunteering activity for its staff to pack and distribute 1,000 Ramadan food items including rice, lentils, oil, curry powder and dates to the dhow sailors at Dubai Creek while the Chamber also organised a community stakeholder Suhoor in the evening to get-together and to discuss how to better serve the community.
