The graduates were honoured by His Excellency Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Economy, in the presence of heads of various other government entities in Dubai.

The professional diploma programme is aligned with the agenda of Dubai to empower its citizens in future foresight, global competitiveness, and artificial intelligence as the city moves towards its goal of being the most competitive in the world.

The programme seeks to create an ideal learning environment supported by the latest educational platforms and tools to enable Dubai Government employees, specifically those in managerial and technical levels in research and studies, strategy and other relevant competitiveness fields, to be competitiveness ambassadors in their respective organisations.

Expressing his appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by the first batch of Competitiveness Ambassadors in the programme, Hani Al Hamli, Manager of the Dubai Competitiveness Office, said their pioneering spirit will make a significant impact on the efforts undertaken by the government to align governance and services in Dubai and the UAE with the ambitious goals set by the leadership.

“Developing a national cadre of exceptional caliber and future foresight has become a top priority in the agenda and vision guiding development in the UAE, as emphasised once again recently in the ‘Projects of the 50.’ The Competitiveness Ambassador programme aims to instill the necessary skills and competitiveness culture within future leaders and key decision-makers in Dubai so that they can proactively adopt strategies that will continue to enhance ease of business and quality of living for the expanding global population in the emirate and across the UAE,” said Al Hamli.

The professional diploma programme will create a cadre of Emiratis conscious about the technical components of achieving and sustaining competitiveness, including the fundamentals, methodologies, and best practices that will classify Dubai as the most competitive globally, said Hani Al Hamli, Manager of the Dubai Competitiveness Office.

The government executives enrolled in the programme will also learn to develop studies, researches and reports as well as analyse data and predict the outcomes of improved competitiveness for Dubai.
