Dubai Culture commissions UAE-based artist to design SIKKA ArtBus

The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, has commissioned UAE-based artist UBIK, to design the SIKKA ArtBus. (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, has commissioned UAE-based artist UBIK, to design the SIKKA ArtBus.
The ArtBus, organised by ArtintheCity and thejamjar, in partnership with the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, serves as a convenient guide for visitors to various art fairs, galleries, educational and interactive talks, and other art events taking place in Dubai.
The fourth bus will act as a complimentary ArtBus shuttle, taking passengers to and from SIKKA 2012, until March 24. The SIKKA ArtBus will run hourly between SIKKA and Art Dubai, from 3pm to 9pm on March 22; from 2pm to 8pm on March 23; and from 10am to 6pm on March 24.
UBIK, also known as Vivek Premachandran, is an experimental visual artist, who was shortlisted to for SIKKA 2012. For the SIKKA ArtBus, UBIK will create a 3D sculptural effect using souvenir fridge magnets in various sizes and designs that reflect Dubai.
