Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) announced the launch of its Museum Summer Camp 2021 for school students from 4 July - 12 August 2021, promising the youth a summer full of culture and skill enhancement through interesting and engaging activities within the 'Certified Cultural Guide' programme.

Hana Mohammed Ayoub, Manager of Programs and Visitors Engagement Section at Etihad Museum, said: “This initiative comes within the framework of Dubai Culture's commitment to stimulating creativity and innovation among the youth, discovering and developing national talents, and providing children with the opportunity to optimally invest their time during their summer school vacation. Through the initiative, we also aim to enhance the presence of our  museums among new generations as a primary destination that would contribute to the formation of a rich societal culture, strengthen the relationship of the youth with the UAE's history and heritage, as well as keep the Emirati cultural heritage present in the minds and hearts of the younger generations and motivate them to draw inspiration from the story of the country's union and its impressive achievements on the path towards development, prosperity and the building of a brighter future.”

The Authority prepared a unique trip for the youth with the 'Certified Cultural Guide' programme, which will take place in a hybrid model this year, allowing participants to choose whether to attend virtually or physically and train to conduct tours in all Dubai Culture museums, including Etihad Museum, Al Shindagha Museum, Coins Museum, Dubai Museum, Museum of the Poet Al Oqaili and Naif Museum.

The onsite programme will be held at Etihad Museum where the youth will learn how to become cultural guides of the museum and enrich their knowledge of the history of the UAE, view the personal collections of the UAE’s founding fathers, and tour the historical building within the museum’s complex, including the Union House and the Guest Palace.

The virtual programme of the ‘Certified Cultural Guide’  allows participants to learn how to conduct and delivery effective and engaging virtual guided tours of all Dubai Culture museums. The programme aims to contribute to the development of the communication skills and further enhance their knowledge of the rich cultural heritage of the UAE.  contribute to the development of their leadership skills and enhance their self-confidence and ability to communicate with others. The five-day programme is concluded with   a practical assessment, after which the participating student will receive the 'Certified Cultural Guide' certificate.
