Dubai Customs and Abu Dhabi Customs explore further cooperation and coordination for MOU execution

A coordination meeting between Dubai Customs and the General Directorate of Customs in Abu Dhabi was held at Dubai Customs headquarter to tackle various potential cooperation aspects, as per the MOU between them. Heading the DC team was Mohammed Al Muainei, Director of Inland Customs Centers Management, while Abu Dhabi Customs team was headed by Saleh Al Shamsi, Customs Operations Director in Al Ain.  

The MOU sealed between Dubai Customs and Abu Dhabi Customs aims to actively reinforce their partnership in a way that enhances the economic and social development in the country.

The meeting saw discussions on sharing information through an electronic network between them as well as cooperating in the areas of training, IPR protection and VCC procedures.

Al Muainei said: “Executing the MOU supports joint efforts to ensure efficient information exchange is in place to step up UAE’s foreign trade.  Proceeding in establishing a network between the two sides enhances transferring customs declarations among them. For these reasons, both parties strive to  improve coordination between them in the light of the UAE’s drive to use latest smart technologies in delivering mobile-enabled services. Dubai Customs managed to deliver all customs services on a 24/7 basis on mobile phones and smart watches.”
