Dubai Economy Shuts Down a Shop and Find 23 Violations of COVID-19 Guidelines

Dubai Economy shut down a mobile phones trading shop and issued 23 fines and two warnings for violating the precautionary guidelines against COVID-19. The violations detected during field inspections by Dubai Economy were mostly related to face masks or physical distancing, and were found in open markets in Naif, Al Murar, Hor Al Anz, Al Rigga, Al Ras, Al Bateen, Aldhagaya, Ayal Nasir, besides shopping malls.

Overall, the inspections showed that 652 commercial establishments fully complied with the guidelines. The violations were found in establishments dealing in readymade garments,  document processing, mobile phones, general trading, advertising, retailing, jewellery, household tools and utensils, fragrances and cosmetics, computers and accessories, investor services, audit & accounts, and government services.

Dubai Economy said it will continue its inspections along with its various partners, reminding that any violation or malpractice that may be found by the inspectors or reported by the public will not be tolerated. 

Dubai Economy also directed traders to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and called on the public to report any violation or harmful practices they come across through the Dubai Consumer App available on Apple, Google and Huawei stores, by calling 600545555, or via the Consumerrights.ae website.
