Dubai Ladies Club invites ladies to support “Balloons of Hope” Initiative

In honour of breast cancer awareness month, Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment, today launched the “Balloons of Hope” Initiative, dedicated to patients, survivors and those who have lost to the brutal battle of breast cancer.

The “Balloons of Hope” Initiative is a corporate pledge taken by Dubai Ladies Club to release 100 pink balloons containing personalised messages of hope and love in dedication to the lives of survivors as well as victims of breast cancer. Women from across the city are invited to participate in this unique concept by coming forward to write their own personal message on the specially provided “Balloons of Hope” Tags, available at Dubai Ladies Club. Participation in this campaign is absolutely free.

On the occasion, Muna Bin Kalli, Executive Director of Dubai Ladies Club said, “Since its inception in 2003, Dubai Ladies Club has been committed to championing the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness, actively initiating and participating in projects to raise funds to advance awareness and education; screening and diagnosis; access to treatment and support services. This year’s agenda has been inspired by the brave women and families who have been touched by breast cancer. The “Balloons of Hope” Initiative is intended as a simple yet impactful gesture that will pay tribute to the many live that have been affected by this disease in an uplifting and fun way. The balloons symbolize release and hope; and I invite members and non-members alike to take part and experience this.”

Until the 20^th of October, Dubai Ladies Club invites ladies from the community to write out personalised tags – available at the Club receptions - containing sentiments, messages of hope or simply an honoree’s name. The message can means different things to different women, they might be dedicated to someone who has passed away, or even symbolise the casting out of bad cancer memories. The tags will then be attached onto the pink “Balloons of Hope” which will be released during a special balloon releasing ceremony on Tuesday, 23^rd October 2012 in Dubai Ladies Club.
