Dubai Media City Joins Hands With Sports Influencer Walid Yari as Part of FIT-DMC Sports Initiative

Dubai Media City, the region’s largest community dedicated to the media industry, announced that it has teamed up with Walid Yari, celebrated sports influencer. The community-wide FITDMC initiative was further extended to the Dubai Studio City. His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports City attended the event and joined the workout with individuals alongside Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City.

The FITDMC fitness initiative is in line with the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30 minutes x 30 days launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai and Dubai Sports Council.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said: “We are really pleased to see Dubai Media City embrace the Dubai Fitness Challenge through their FITDMC initiative. Dubai Media City is the region’s biggest community of media professionals and it is great to see all our esteemed media colleagues get involved in this admirable initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council. The Dubai Fitness Challenge is only the starting gate in our journey towards becoming the most physically active city in the world.”

In partnership with Be Fit GCC, the premium multi-brand fitness and lifestyle store, Walid Yari hosted the inaugural session that welcomed participants of all ages and fitness levels from across the community to the new venue. The session comprised a four-hour engaging workout including High Intensity Interval training (HIIT). Participants also benefitted from one-on-one personal consultations with experienced fitness trainers.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City, said: “Given the high uptake and transformative benefits as well as the positive impact achieved by our fitness initiative FITDMC as the Dubai Fitness Challenge reaches its halfway mark, we are encouraged to extend this DMC-based initiative to the Dubai Studio City. We are pleased to proactively contribute to achieving the wider goals of the Dubai Fitness Challenge of creating a fitter and healthier community.”

Sports influencer Walid Yari is currently the ambassador of Adidas Middle East and Fitness First Middle East and has been recognised as one of the champions of the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA).

Speaking on his role at FITDMC initiative, Walid Yari said: “I am continually seeking to promote well-being and an enhanced quality of life for the community around me. FITDMC is a great fitness enabler to encourage a healthy lifestyle, as well as engage the business community across Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City.”
