Dubai Women Establishment & Dubai Ladies Club celebrate Hag Al Leilah

Earlier today, Dubai Women Establishment & Dubai Ladies Club, celebrated the auspicious day of Hag Al Leilah with the young children of members and staff. Children dressed in traditional clothes were cordially greeted by the Club’s management and handed out sweets & candy in goody bags. The children were also encouraged to sing popular songs to receive additional gifts and blessings. There was also a surprise visit from Modhesh, sunny-faced mascot of Dubai Summer Surprises.
On the occasion, Shamsa Saleh, CEO of Dubai Women Establishment, said, “Dubai Women Establishment and Dubai Ladies Club together are proudly participating along with its members, staff and their children to celebrate the holy occasion. It is a day for children to play, have fun and most importantly strengthen their young cultural wisdom”.
Muna Bin Kalli, Executive Director of Dubai Ladies Club commented, “We are delighted to be able to celebrate this event with the children of our esteemed members and guests. Hag El Leilah is one of our oldest and most revered UAE traditions, and demonstrates the ingrained Emirati traits of generosity, hospitality and a strong sense of community. As a women-only recreational facility, Dubai Ladies Club aims to contribute to the overall benefit of the society by participating in community related activities. Since its inception, Dubai Ladies Club has implemented several community programs which include children’s summer camps, regular social awareness campaign for the collective good of its stakeholders.

Dubai Women Establishment
The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) was formed in 2006 under law no. (24) by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. DWE is headed by Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Wife of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan – UAE Minister of Presidential Affairs. As a statutory body of Dubai Government and as per its founding decree, the Establishment aims to encourage and facilitate the participation of Emirati women in the workforce and society.
Mandate includes extensive research to identify and quantify status of women in the workforce of Dubai, as well as initiatives towards women’s further development opportunities. Awareness and policies that are conducive to women in the workforce will be recommended to Dubai Government as solutions to enable women to play a greater role within the UAE and on global scale.
The term participation includes acknowledgment of women in arts, women in sports, women in leadership professionally in their field as well as of the societal arena such as act of philanthropic, humanitarian and politics.
