In a move aimed to ace relationships with its American customer base and bolster its presence in the US market, Emirates Aluminium (EMAL) hosted its US clients at The Deutsche Bank Championship PGA Tour golf tournament in Boston last week.

Currently supplying 280 customers in 36 countries with high quality aluminium, the Al Taweelah based aluminium smelter aims to increase demand for its product range of sow, standard ingots, sheet ingots and extrusion billets in the lucrative American market, through establishing lasting, quality relationships with its international customers.

Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, President and CEO of EMAL, said: “As a new global player in the aluminium market, we aim to be closest to the hole when it comes to acquiring international business and establishing a strong client network. Building long-term ties with global clients through our dedicated customer focus is central to our ambitions, and hosting this event is just one of many ways in which we achieve this.”

The Deutsche Bank Championship is a PGA Tour golf tournament that occurs every year on Labor Day weekend. The tournament began in 2003 and is held at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Massachusetts

EMAL’s success in the global aluminium market was reflected on the course when Team Emal 1 shot an impressive 16 under par to take The Deutsche Bank Championship Pro-Am title, hoisting the coveted trophy ahead of 52 other teams. Led by American professional golfer Charles Howell III, with amateurs Maurizio La Noce, Walid Al Attar, Greg Sproule, and EMAL client - senior Hays-Lemmerz representative, Mark Arnold - the team won in spectacular fashion when La Noce sank a 45 foot putt on the 18th green to seal the victory.
