Emarat, the leading petroleum retailer in the UAE, launched a charity campaign across its network in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent to aid the drought and needy victims in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

Mr. Adel Khalifah Al Shaer, Acting General Manager at Emarat said that Millions of lives are at stake and one can not sit and watch. People need to be aware of how the Somali and African people are suffering and they need to unite to offer their support.

Severe drought has affected lives in many African countries and people are deprived of basic food and water. Worst affected are the children who face death due to starvation.

'Ramadan is a time for giving and it is only human not to turn away our face in light of such a cause. We have teamed up with the UAE Red Crescent to communicate the message to all customers that we should generously contribute to this noble cause. We will collect contributions from our willing customers and ensure that the money raised is used in their support.' Concluded Mr. Al Shaer.
