EMC announces the appointment of Mohamed Tantawi as General Manager for EMC Egypt

EMC Middle East announced the appointment of Mohamed Tantawi as General Manager for EMC Egypt.

In his new role, Tantawi will be responsible for driving the organization’s strategic agenda and innovation roadmap in a bid to further accelerate EMC’s significant growth across Egypt.

Based in Cairo and reporting to Mohamed Talaat, Vice President for  EMC Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Libya , Tantawi will continue to lay emphasis on establishing and strengthening key customer and channel collaborations to enable successful IT and business transformation across Egypt.

Prior to the announcement, Tantawi held the position of General Manager Rest of Gulf and Pakistan. He joined EMC in 2015 and was responsible for growth in Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Tantawi managed to accelerate growth in his region and demonstrated key attributes in leadership, passion, business acumen and personal engagement with customers and partners.

Tantawi is a long time industry veteran with over 22 years of experience across Middle East and North Africa region in different capacities and across different sectors. Prior to EMC, Tantawi held the role of Telecom Leader for the Middle East & Pakistan at IBM. Prior to IBM, he was the Client Director in Cisco for Etisalat Worldwide where he also held the role of Regional Sales Manager in South Gulf running the Public Sector and Enterprise Teams in Qatar and Oman.

He also worked in Alcatel for 8 years before Cisco focused on MENA Region in different capacities including Regional Channel Manager and Country Manager for Saudi Arabia.
