EMC highlights changing CFO priorities and IT driven transformation at IDC Middle East CIO Summit 2016

EMC® today announced its participation at the IDC Middle East CIO Summit 2016 which is being held at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE on the 17th and 18th of February.
Held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, the two day event is expected to bring together an audience of over 150 business and ICT leaders from across the Middle East to address the changing demands from ICT to enable business transformation and success in an increasingly tough financial climate.
As their 8th consecutive participation at the IDC Middle East CIO Summit, EMC this year joins the summit as a CFO partner, lending its expertise to the CFO workshop that is aimed at enabling both IT and finance leaders optimize budgets and leverage intelligence driven solutions to fuel the business.
According to a recent study by consulting firm, Protiviti, this year will continue to see CFOs lay utmost emphasis on maximizing margins and earnings performance. The 2016 Finance Priorities Survey further revealed that 2016 will also see CFOs focus on enabling the business to protect itself against cybersecurity risks in addition to achieving a single, real-time version of the truth through more accurate and real time data collection to improve decision making and forecasting abilities.
At the event, Elliott Young, Head of Transformation Work Group, EMEA at EMC Corporation will present a session that is focused on enabling CFOs lead business transformation through a core ICT foundation. Through his presentation, CFOs will uncover the new Digital Transformation investment cycle expected for 2016 and the key drivers behind emerging business models that enterprises and business units may need to adopt and turn around to achieve a sustained competitive advantage. Young will further elaborate on concrete methods and best practices to help CFOs leverage the four pillars of technology transformation to support not just their own business strategies but also help business spot, identify and leverage new opportunities.
EMC executives will shed detailed insights on the power of transitioning to IT-As-A-Service models to optimize budgets by reducing operational costs and allow resources to be better utilized for digital business initiatives and additional transformational change programs. The session will also see experts from EMC outline essential steps and guidance to enable this transition through a comprehensive approach transforming IT infrastructure, applications and most importantly the operating model to enable agile, streamlined and efficiency driven process and approach to IT.
