EMGAS receives ISO 26000 Standard with 3-Star rating in Social Responsibility Performance

Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has achieved a 3-Star rating in Social Responsibility Performance as per the ISO 26000 standard guidelines for its continued efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and safe practices.

This new achievement aligns with the company’s strategy to embrace international best practices to operate in a socially responsible way and to contribute to the health and welfare of society.

The new ISO rating underlines the success of our programmes and initiatives aimed at responding to our customers’ needs while promoting a sustainable growth of the industry that safeguards the health and welfare of the community.”

As the largest supplier of LPG in the UAE, EMGAS, along with ENOC, co-hosted the first Middle East LP Gas Summit to promote the sustainable growth and safe use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the Middle East. EMGAS is also the market leader in supplying a variety of LPG products and propane used in industrial, commercial establishments and residential areas.

In addition, the company is a strong promoter of the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a clean and green fuel of choice that supports the ‘Green Economy for Sustainable Development’ vision of the UAE. 

Among other CSR activities, EMGAS provides disadvantaged families with free LPG refills every year during the Holy Month of Ramadan. In partnership with Dubai Municipality, EMGAS also spreads LPG safety awareness among the public through free seminars in local communities, schools, and in worker camps in Dubai. 

Adopting several international standards, EMGAS is already an ISO Certified Company for 9001 (QMS), 14001 (EMS), 18001 (OSHAS) and 10002 (Customer Care). EMGAS is also the proud recipient of 2012 cycle Dubai Quality Award and CSR label for four consecutive years since 2011; and has been awarded Environmental Performance Certification (EPC) by the Ministry of Environment & Water, Federal Government of UAE. 

EMGAS has won the First place at Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) in “Transport Safety Category” in its 4th edition and the First place in “Environment Protection Category” in the 5th Edition. EMGAS has also been voted as a Superbrand for 2014 & 2015.
