Emirates Gas marks CSR commitment with donation of wheelchairs to Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre

Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) further underlined its commitment to implementing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives with the donation of five wheelchairs for use by the young special needs students at Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre. Staff members of EMGAS also engaged in volunteering work by visiting the Centre and assembling the wheelchairs. 

The winner of the CSR Label Award for the third consecutive year from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, EMGAS actively champions initiatives that make a difference to the community. 

Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing & International Business Development and General Manager of Emirates Gas LLC, said: “We continuously explore opportunities to make a positive and sustainable difference to the community. The donation of the wheelchairs and the volunteering efforts by our staff members not only highlight our strong focus on undertaking CSR initiatives but also further instil strong values in our employees. The team work helped to build morale, pride and employee loyalty, while also bringing cheer to the young beneficiaries at the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre.” 

Mariam Othman, General Manager of Rashid Centre, said: “We thank EMGAS for the donation and active involvement of their staff members. The noble gesture by the company further strengthens our resources to further provide quality training and support to our students. This builds on our long-term partnership with ENOC, which supports our students through ENOC Challenge, a comprehensive seven-month training programme.” 

In other CSR initiatives by EMGAS, the company’s staff members have played with the UAE Special Needs team in a friendly game of wheelchair basketball at the Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped in Sharjah. With the company’s team using wheelchairs to play the entire duration of the game, the event was organised to honour the efforts and highlight skills of people with special needs. Senior management from EMGAS honoured 15 players from the UAE Special Needs team after the match. 

EMGAS also promotes the cleaner, cheaper and greener compressed natural gas (CNG) as automotive fuel, as part of its CSR commitment and is at the forefront in protecting customers from illegal import and unsafe bottling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at unauthorised locations.
