Emirates Gas wins Dubai Chamber’s CSR Label Award for 5th consecutive year

Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has won the CSR Label Award from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Dubai Chamber) for the fifth consecutive year, reiterating its outstanding contribution to promoting Corporate Social Responsibility ideals that make a difference to the community and the environment.

The award, instituted by the Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, is a direct recognition of the best CSR practices of all Dubai-based companies, large and small.

At a ceremony held at Dubai Chamber, S. Ravindran, EHS & Business Excellence Manager, EMGAS-SERVICES received the CSR Label Award.

Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director of ENOC Gas Marketing & General Manager of EMGAS, said: “EMGAS was the first business from the Oil & Gas industry to secure this award in 2011. The fact that we have continued to win it every year highlights our commitment and sustained focus on CSR practices.

“We strive to uphold the welfare of the community and the environment across all aspects of our business operations; and we are thankful to Dubai Chamber for honouring us for the fifth consecutive year, recognising our efforts towards engaging the community and conducting free trainings & campaigns to promote safe use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).”

As part of its CSR commitment, EMGAS distributes free LPG refills to 500 underprivileged families in Dubai, Ajman and UAQ, during the Holy Month of Ramadan and beyond. The company also promotes the safe use of LPG and undertook number of Public Safety Campaigns including ‘Safe Cylinder... Safe House’ campaign. Employees of EMGAS regularly take part in environmental clean-up campaigns, which further highlights the company’s organisation-wide commitment to the community and sustainable development.

EMGAS has also won the Dubai Quality Award (2012 cycle) for its commitment to quality and business excellence.

EMGAS is also awarded Environmental Performance Certification (EPC) by the Ministry of Environment & Water, Federal Government of UAE. EMGAS won the First place at Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) in “Transport Safety Category” in the 4^th Edition and the first place in “Environment Protection Category” in the 5^th Edition. EMGAS has also been voted as a Superbrand for 2014 & 2015.
