Emirates Grand Hotel welcomes Filipino veteran actress

Emirates Grand Hotel, the 50-storey tall tower conveniently located in the heart of Dubai’s business and commercial district, hosted the stay of well-respected Filipino veteran actress Boots Anson Roa who attended the recently concluded first Philippine Film Festival in the UAE (PFF-UAE).

Ms. Anson-Roa is a well-respected celebrity and well-loved by the Filipino audience. Ms. Anson-Roa starred in the family-oriented film Botelya, one of the four award-winning films shown at the film festival. Other films screened for free were Rosario, Ded na si Lolo (Grandpa is Dead) and the classic film Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon”.  The veteran actress who is also the director of MOWELFUND discussed about the significance of films to the Filipino culture and the current state of the film industry. She was joined by another veteran film director and thespian Soxie Topacio.
