Emirates Group employees recognised for exceptional achievements

The Emirates Group recognised the outstanding achievements of its staff today, during the Group’s annual Najm Chairman’s Awards, held at the company’s headquarters. 

A total of seven different achievements, involving 11 employees, were selected by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group. The winning submissions were selected from a strong pool of candidates with each winner displaying a commitment to their role that goes beyond their regular job description. 

“I have always known that The Emirates Group’s greatest asset is its staff. The Najm Chairman’s Awards bring to the fore the remarkable feats that are accomplished by our employees. Standing out from an already high calibre of staff is not always easy and I commend these winners on their achievements,” said Sheikh Ahmed. 

The winning submissions included; taking decisive action in an emergency situation to save a passenger’s life, innovative ideas that brought about operational efficiencies in addition to yielding cost savings and prevention of possible incidents due to nimbleness and quick thinking. 

Hundreds of brilliant employees were nominated for a coveted Najm Chairman’s Award, and after a comprehensive selection process Sheikh Ahmed selected and named the winning candidates. 

Each of the eleven winners received a gold plated trophy, a framed certificate and cash award, all personally presented to them by Sheikh Ahmed in front of their invited friends, family and colleagues. The annual award presentation was held in the Emirates Group Headquarters’ atrium. 

The winners of this year’s Najm award were from several different departments across Emirates and included; Joyce Probert, Medical Service Administration Controller, Company Medical Clinic, Elizabeth Alexander, Executive Secretary, Company Medical Clinic, Reino Pieterse, Doctor, Company Medical Clinic, Mirjana Senic, Employee Assistance Counsellor Muhammad Arif,  Aircraft Technician Emirates Engineering, John Barnard, Manager Regional Outstations Emirates Engineering, Robert Lofts, Airport Services Agent, Shahrukh Jindran, Ground Dispatcher, dnata Airport Operations, Tazheri Wahab, dnata Controller, dnata Airport Operations, Yousef Zareei, Junior Engineering Maintenance Assistant Emirates Engineering and Sylvia Baah, Airport Services Manager, Emirates Airport Services.
