Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, has strengthened its commitment to Tunis with the introduction of two extra flights, meaning that it will fly six times weekly from 30 October 2011.

Services to Tunisia are operated by A330-200 aircraft in a three-class configuration, featuring 12 luxurious First Class seats, 42 seats in Business Class and generous space for 183 passengers in Economy Class. The increased services will add almost 3,800 seats per month in each direction, providing a welcome boost to tourism and economic growth in Tunisia.

“Tunis is a significant market for Emirates and these additional flights are a testament to our growing presence in the market since we began operations to Tunisia five years ago”, said Jean Luc Grillet, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Africa.

“More services mean more flexibility and choice for our customers, enabling them to select the travel times which best suit them, as well as enabling easy connections to points across the Far and Middle East, Indian sub-continent, Europe and Australasia via the airline’s hub in Dubai,” added Mr Grillet.

From 30 October, Flight EK747 will depart Dubai every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 09:05 hours, arriving in Tunis at 12:55 hours. The return journey, flight EK 748, will depart Tunis at 14:30, arriving in Dubai at 22:55 hours.

Customers in all cabins will enjoy meals prepared by gourmet chefs, award-winning service from the airline’s international cabin crew recruited from over 120 countries, as well as the airline’s industry leading ice (information, communication, entertainment) system that offers hundreds of channels on-demand entertainment and the facility to send and receive emails and text messages.

With a fleet of 159 aircraft and already the largest A380 operator in the world, Emirates currently serves 19 destinations in the African continent, with new services to Zambia and Zimbabwe starting from February 2012.
