Emirates Islamic Bank supports key social activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan

Emirates Islamic Bank, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, announced it has tied up with a number of organisations to promote activities and charity campaigns to mark the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan. This is in line with Emirates Islamic Bank’s objective to engage in socially-relevant activities, aimed at making a positive impact on society.
As a socially responsible financial services entity, Emirates Islamic Bank is the main sponsor for the Zakat Fund Ramadan Campaign, which aims to emphasise the importance of Zakat during the Holy Month. The Zakat Fund is a federal body that facilitates Zakat, the annual obligatory donations to charity for Muslims.
In another major initiative, Emirates Islamic Bank is the Gold Sponsor for the Dubai International Holy Quran Award. The award, established by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to encourage young Muslims to memorise and understand the Holy Quran, and to spread its values of peace and love.
The bank is also the main sponsor for the Al Ajer Initiative, which was launched by Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed’s Private Office to encourage people to understand the importance of forgiveness.
“Emirates Islamic Bank is committed to work with members of the community as well as organisations operating in the country, especially the government, to host social and community-focused activities that underline the true spirit of the Holy Month,” said Faisal Aqil, Deputy CEO-Consumer Wealth Management, Emirates Islamic Bank.
Emirates Islamic Bank is also supporting the Ramadan activities of Emirates Foundation for Youth Development. The Emirates Foundation for Youth Development is an independent philanthropic organisation in Abu Dhabi that facilitates public-private funded initiatives designed to improve the welfare of youth across the UAE.
Emirates Islamic Bank has also teamed up with Dar Al Ber Society, one of the region’s most established charities, to provide vouchers worth AED 500 to 100 underprivileged families during the Holy Month.
