Endeavor Jordan Announces the Selection of Al-Ameed Coffee and Tarjama Into Its Global Network
Endeavor Jordan is proud to announce the selection of Basel and Adel Daher of Al-Ameed Coffee and Nour Al-Hassan of Tarjama into its global network as a result of Endeavor's 80th International Selection Panel (ISP), held in Milan, Italy earlier this week. The selection of the entrepreneurs came along the announcement of selecting 40 entrepreneurs representing 15 companies from 8 countries, therefore reaching a global portfolio of 1698 high-impact entrepreneurs across 30 countries worldwide leading 1059 companies.
Al-Ameed Coffee has specialized in roasting traditional coffee since 1973. Their Turkish coffee has driven their local market leadership and is consistently touted by locals to be the best cup of Turkish coffee they've ever had.
Upon their selection the Daher brothers commented on the selection process being an eye-opening experience "Not only did we get to meet with entrepreneurs and business leaders both locally and internationally, we also got to reflect on our own business and challenges from an entirely new perspective through thoughtful conversation, fresh insights and new perspectives."
Tarjama combines machine-learning technology and highly educated translators to provide reliable, efficient, and accurate translation services for businesses of all sizes. To date, the company has translated 200M+ words from 30+ languages into Arabic for 800+ clients worldwide, including the UAE government, Google, and Facebook. Tarjama also trains and employs the largest network of Arabic-speaking female translators in the world; 70% of its workforce is women.
"The journey has been so exciting, enriching and full of knowledge. Looking forward to start our journey with Endeavor", adds Nour Al-Hassan CEO and Founder of Tarjama.
The Endeavor ISP is the final phase of a multi-step rigorous selection process, where candidates pitch their companies to top international business leaders and investors from the Endeavor network, making those obtaining a unanimous vote officially Endeavor Entrepreneurs.
Reem Goussous, Endeavor Jordan Managing Director stated that "We are thrilled with the addition of Al Ameed Coffee and Tarjama into our portfolio. Both companies are at an inflection point and slated for 10x growth. We will avail all the support needed in terms of access to finance, markets, mentorship and talent to help them achieve that growth and become global player."
Once selected into the network, entrepreneurs gain access to a wide array of services enabling them to scale their businesses, and multiply their impact.
In 1997, Linda Rottenberg and Peter Kellner sat down and, like many entrepreneurs before and after, sketched their vision on the back of a napkin. Peter had just returned from a Harvard Business School trip to China, where he had witnessed first-hand the boom in entrepreneurship that would transform that country.
