ENOC’s Code of Business Conduct extended to three more ENOC Group entities

Highlighting the commitment of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) to uphold the highest standards of business ethics and compliance across all its operations, the company has introduced its Code of Business Conduct to three more Group entities. ENOC Aviation, ENOC Lubricants and EPPCO International Ltd. have now fully embraced the Code of Business Conduct mandating that all employees in the three business units, as well as all business operations, will comply with the business ethics standards set by ENOC.
Additionally, ENOC has also introduced its Business Ethics & Compliance Programme for Arabic speakers at Tasjeel, the UAE’s one stop shop for all vehicle testing and registration needs.
Saeed Khoory, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC, said: “The Code of Business Conduct defines our organisational philosophy to ensure that all aspects of our business are unwavering in their compliance to the highest standards of business ethics. The Code is being systematically introduced to cover all our business units and our international operations.
“The Code of Business Conduct is our gold standard in business ethics, highlighting ‘the way we lead’ and contributes not only to strengthening our market reputation but also enabling us to create sustained and long-term value for our stakeholders.”
The introduction of the Code at ENOC Aviation, ENOC Lubricants and EPPCO International Ltd followed a concerted campaign by the management including direct communication with the staff, distribution of booklets and brochures to educate the staff, a range of Business Ethics & Compliance activities and training sessions. All business partners associated with the subsidiaries also supported the programme highlighting their commitment to ENOC’s initiative to promote business best practices.
As part of introducing the Code and strengthening awareness, five training session were held for the employees of ENOC Aviation, four for EPPCO staff and one for the ENOC Lubricants team, under the guidance of Aley Raza - Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.
To reinforce business ethics and compliance at Tasjeel, Arabic editions of the ENOC Code of Business Conduct were distributed to every employee. In all, eight Arabic sessions to promote awareness of the Code were conducted at Tasjeel covering 135 employees, and seven sessions were conducted in English for 113 employees.
ENOC’s Code of Business Conduct builds on its core values that are integral to all operations – teamwork, integrity, transparency, respect and customer focus. The organisation has a dedicated Business Ethics & Compliance function that leads all aspects related to implementing the Code, which covers various aspects related to the ethical conduct of day to day business activities like fair treatment, environment, conflict of interest, business courtesies, intellectual property, information use, trademarks and records management, among others. A dedicated portal and a 24x7 hotline are also operational to ensure that all aspects outlined in the Code are upheld by all concerned individuals at all times.
ENOC places utmost emphasis on business ethics and compliance, and has set several standards, policies and procedures in place. These include: Standards, Policies and Procedures; Programme Administration; Communications, Education & Training; and Internal Monitoring Systems, among others. The company follows an open-door approach, giving access to every employee to clarify any questions relating to the company’s ethical practices
