ENOC rewards suppliers for outstanding performance

Emirates National Oil Company ENOC awarded 17 suppliers for their outstanding performance and business contribution in 2011 at the first ”ENOC Strategic Suppliers Recognition” awards ceremony, held recently at the Grand Hyatt. 

The winners were selected from 316 suppliers short listed from over 2,000 companies. The ENOC team evaluated each supplier’s performance based on various parameters including quality, delivery, reliability, customer service and feedback from staff. 

The award ceremony is part of the “Supplier Relationship Management,” a programme initiated by ENOC’s Procurement and Contracts Department, and aims to nurture ENOC’s partnership with suppliers and continuously strengthen the quality of service it receives. The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply CIPS, a UK-based accreditation body in the purchasing industry, and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises SME Development attended the awarding ceremony. 

“The Strategic Suppliers Recognition Award, planned to be an annual feature, underlines our commitment to honour our partners for their adherence to the highest standards of quality and service,” said Saeed Abdullah Khoory, ENOC’s Chief Executive Officer. “To continuously receive quality service, it is important that our partners are also aligned with our vision and core values. This programme aims to inspire our suppliers and to further strengthen our partnerships with them.” 

The awards were given in three categories: gold, silver and bronze. In addition, special awards were presented to suppliers from Dubai SMEs and government-entity partners. 

ENOC’s Procurement and Contracts Department holds an ISO certification from Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd. for its quality management system, and handles the procurement of ENOC’s wholly owned companies and joint ventures in the UAE, in addition to ENOC’s 10 corporate departments. 

During the occasion, Abdulsalam Al Hammadi, the Director of ENOC’s Procurement and Contracts Department who has initiated the Strategic Suppliers Recognition awards ceremony, emphasized on the importance of strengthening relationships with suppliers through similar initiatives.
