ENOC Retail achieves milestone year for ISO certifications

ENOC Retail, the retail business of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has achieved several certifications in 2014 recording a milestone year that underlined its commitment to international best practices.

The achievement also helped power- business growth during the past year, supported by the implementation of a series of policies, procedures and systems to strengthen operational efficiency.

In a key initiative that supports the ‘green economy for sustainable development’ vision of the UAE, ENOC’s fuel stations have achieved the ISO 5001:2011 certification for its Energy Management Systems. This highlights the focus on ENOC Retail to promote energy and water efficiency measures across its fuel stations, thus contributing to sensible consumption of power and water.

For the first time, ZOOM Metro achieved certifications to the Integrated Management System comprising of ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO 14001 for Environment Management and OHSAS 18001 for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.

Additionally, ENOC Retail has been awarded the ISO 31000 standard for Risk Management, ISO 10002 standard for Customer Satisfaction & Complaints Management and has extended the scope of its ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 & HACCP certifications for quality, environment, occupational health & safety, food safety and other key parameters.

Al Hashemi added that the certifications were secured following the implementation of several path-breaking procedures and systems based on international models. “This in turn has contributed to our bottom-line with ENOC Retail recording strong performance across all touch-points last year,” he explained.

The entities in ENOC Retail that hold internationally recognised certifications include: ENOC Retail Business Segment including Support Departments, ENOC Retail Operations & Marketing (Retail Gas Stations, ZOOM Metro and PRONTO), AutoPro, ENOC Tasjeel, and EPPCO Distribution. 

ENOC Retail, winner of the Dubai Quality Award in 1997 and 2004, renewed its ‘journey of quality’ in 2009 with a view to reinforcing excellence in every facet of its business.
