ENOC to highlight retail franchising opportunities at SIAL Middle East

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is showcasing its retail franchising opportunities at the SIAL Middle East exhibition to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) from November 26 to 28, 2012.
Participating in the event for the first time, ENOC Retail will highlight its ZOOM convenience stores at the event, underlining its support for the new convenience store retailing guidelines set by the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. The ENOC stand is located at the entrance of Hall 4.
“With ZOOM’s dynamic business model, potential partners can benefit from ENOC’s in-depth knowledge in convenience store retailing and also leverage the growing retail business in the country,” said Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail.
“Our participation in the event comes at an opportune time, when Abu Dhabi is focused on modernising its convenience stores in line with the guidelines of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. ZOOM stores match all the specifications outlined by the Authority, and through a successful franchise, potential owners can upgrade and rebrand their stores and easily become part of the modernised retail sector of the Capital city,” he added.
The new regulations by the Emirate regarding convenience stores include branding, layout specifications, a focus on safer preservation of food products, uniforms for staff, labeling and security. Failure to comply with the new rules will prevent businesses from renewing their licences after December 31, 2012. The government initiative is a part of their development strategy in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
SIAL Middle East hosts 19 international pavilions and expects more than 1,000 exhibitors. It is among the biggest food exhibitions that take place around the world.
ZOOM has over 160 stores in the UAE, including 40 outlets that are located across the Dubai Metro stations. Its flagship supermarket branch on Sheikh Zayed Road is an expanded version that represents a wider range of high quality food products and other necessities. ZOOM was recently awarded with the “Store Concept of the Year” award for the MENA region at the InRetail Summit held in Dubai.
