EQUATE sponsors Firemen’s Day Festival

EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint-venture in this industry, sponsored the 13th Firemen’s Day under the patronage of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

EQUATE Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Leader Mohammad Al-Shamary said, “This sponsorship represents an extension of the sustainable partnership between the Company and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) that plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of the Kuwaiti society as a whole. This partnership has been embodied through several joint initiatives, such as sharing expertise; holding routine meetings; as well as launching Safety at Every Home Campaign (Safe) to establish awareness about dealing with emergencies within and outside homes, the importance of fire extinguishers, the necessity of smoke detectors, safe use of gas cylinders, calling 112 in case of emergency and other critical matters. In addition, KFSD and EQUATE staff attended joint international training courses in advanced industrial firefighting and hazmat to develop capabilities and adopting global best practices to serve this country and all its population, citizens and expatriates alike.”

Al-Shamary expressed utmost appreciation and gratitude to the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah for patronizing this event, KFSD Director-General Major-General Yousuf Al-Ansari, KFSD Deputy Director-General for Human Resources & Firefighting Affairs Brigadier Khaled Al-Mekrad, KFSD Director of Public Relations & Media Colonel Khalil Al-Ameer, as well as all KFSD staff and all participants in this festival who truly manifested EQUATE’s “Partners in Success” slogan.

During the festival’s opening ceremony, EQUATE presented a plaque to His Excellency the Minister. EQUATE’s participation in the festival included a booth that hosted a number of EH&S employees to extend safety advice to the festival’s attendees.
