EY Jordan Showcases Cybersecurity Expertise and Advancements at Special Operations Forces Exhibition 2018

Shedding light on the fast-evolving cybersecurity landscape, the latest cyber threats and ensuing solutions, EY Jordan sponsored and participated in the 12th Edition of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX). The biennial event, which took place between 7 and 10 May 2018, in Amman, Jordan, was held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and the Chairmanship of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein, with the full support of the Jordan Armed Forces.
The Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference (MESOC) was held in conjunction with SOFEX, during which Raddad Ayoub, EY Partner and EMEIA Cyber and Resilience Leader, took part in a panel discussion titled ‘Managing Resilience in an Era of Expanding Cyber Conflict’. Raddad Ayoub discussed topics of emerging relevance in the industry, including resilience to cyber threats, and demonstrated EY’s leadership in the domain. In addition to demonstrating EY’s deep insights on the cyber threat landscape and the firm’s proven, well-defined and globally-consistent methodology and knowledge base. The Conference drew the participation of more than 600 attendees including chiefs of staff, defense ministers, special operations commanders, heads of security agencies, senior officers, as well as experts and specialists from around the world, to discuss various ongoing global security challenges and exchange ideas, solutions and best practices.
EY Jordan also joined the Exhibition that commenced the following day, and was honored by a visit from HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein, in the presence of several EY Jordan partners, in which the services it offers were discussed. These services include Cybersecurity Services, Forensic Technology and Discovery Services, as well as EY’s award-winning Cyber Analytics platform that leverages the network anomaly detection technology, PathScan. Moreover, EY Jordan promoted its MENA Digital Security Operations Center (DSOC) that was recently inaugurated in the GCC, in response to increasing demand for cybersecurity services in the region.
“Every day, cyber-attacks are increasing in sophistication and danger levels. There is no denying that when it comes to cyber-attacks, the real concern is when it will happen rather than if it will happen,” stated Bishr Baker, Managing Partner at EY Jordan. “Organizations – governmental or private – operating in today’s vast digital landscape need to understand this and evaluate the current cyber threats and vulnerabilities out there, how they might affect them, what measurements they have in place to guard themselves, and finally what they can do to mitigate cybersecurity risks. EY Jordan is excited to have taken part in this event, where we were able to share our innovative cyber defense capabilities, in an effort to combat the risk of cyber attacks at all levels.”
