FGB releases first interactive virtual reality bank setting in the world

FGB, one of the leading banks in the UAE, is releasing the first, truly immersive banking experience in a virtual reality setting, along with an innovative new Apple Watch banking application.

The 360 degree gamification-driven VR application is the first of its kind to be developed at a global level, making FGB a leader of innovation in FinTech services. The application will be launched on November 10th at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.

FGB's VR application is unique and presents a seamless and immersive 360-degree entertainment environment, allowing customers who own VR glasses to interact with objects placed throughout an FGB Virtual World. These objects are integrated online with existing servicing processes of the bank, and provide information about products and services, such as Accelerator, Manchester City and Ferrari credit cards and FGB’s Mobile banking platform.

FGB has also incorporated an entertainment aspect to the application, which includes a football penalty shoot-out game, allowing customers to test out their football skills.

The bank has also recently introduced a new ‘FGB Watch Banking’ application for Apple Watch. Via the application, customers can quickly and easily access banking information such as balances for accounts, deposits, loans and cards on the go, along with the last 10 transactions for accounts and cards. Customers can also access an FGB branch and ATM locator through the application, as well as the bank’s contact details. Customers can experience FGB Watch Banking by downloading the application on their iPhone and completing a one-time activation process.

To use FGB’s VR application, customers can download it from the Android/Google Play Store by searching “FGB VR”. In upcoming weeks, the product will be launched on Oculus and Apple Store. FGB’s VR application is available for everyone, not only to bank customers.

FGB has prioritised digital innovation as part of its efforts to provide customers with advanced and user-friendly services. The bank launched its mobile banking application in 2011, and updated new version in August 2015. With the new version, it introduced brand new features for the first time in the UAE market, such as the One Time Password feature, which is a top- trend security layer, in addition to its augmented reality ATM and Branch locator, Near By Me Offers-Deals, etc.
