GE Healthcare is demonstrating its commitment to clinical innovation by highlighting a variety of technologies developed to meet the diverse needs of patients and clinicians across care areas at Arab Health 2013.  Innovations featured at GE Healthcare’s booth include those designed to translate in both high and low resource settings and throughout the hospital, from the Operating Room and Intensive Care Unit to specialty areas such as the CardiacCare Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Having the right tools and equipment are vital to delivering the highest form of patient care.  At Arab Health 2013, GE Healthcare is also highlighting innovations in anesthesia delivery including its recently-launched Carestation 301 anaesthesia delivery system featuring an integrated SpO2 measurement(the level of oxygen in the blood), designed for the needs in African and other for the emerging markets. Additionally, GE Healthcare is showcasing the Avance* CS2 (2) anesthesia delivery system with new ecoFLOW technology, which helps skilled clinicians identify unnecessarily high fresh gas flow rates to assist clinicians in maintaining their desired oxygen concentration. If gas flows are turned down, this can potentially translate into reduced anesthetic costs and environmental impact.

“Arab Health presents a great opportunity for those committed to improving the delivery of healthcare to come together and discuss the latest advancements,” said Mazen Dalati, General Manager for GE Healthcare’s Life Care Solutions business in the Middle East, Africa, Russia, CIS, Turkey and Central Asia.  “We look forward to showcasing how we’re leveraging the best of our resources and expertise to provide technologies designed to take care of patients throughout a hospital, while also looking to address specific care challenges, such as advancing surgery in  different healthcare settings and based on clinical and patient needs, for example remote primary care settings.”

Along with other technologies, GE Healthcare is showcasing its diagnostic cardiology equipment designed to address the specific needs around cardiac care and cardiovascular disease, a major health problem throughout the Middle East. From the MAC* 5500HD with advanced disease management capabilities and workflows to the MAC* 800, which provides clinicians with portable, advanced ECG technology, GE Healthcare has ECG solutions for clinicians in nearly every care setting.

“Our mission is to provide the best care possible to our patients today,” said Majed Fayyadh M.D., Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, “and to lead the way in research and development to help ensure a healthier future for everyone. The MAC* 800 promises to play an important role in achieving these goals. It’s a perfect fit, allowing us to reach more people, more cost-effectively than ever before.”
